ENSCHEDE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

OCTOBER 25, 2025<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, October 25th, between 7:15 PM and 8:00 PM, eleven songs from eleven different countries will be played on the bells of the Campus Carillon of the University of Twente. Around that time it is already dark. That is why it will be a candlelight concert!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By candlelight alone, the carillonists of the university will demonstrate how music can connect people from all corners of the globe. Come listen and experience, surrounded by nature, how the sounds of the carillon merge with the night. A unique opportunity to reflect on the beauty of darkness and the power of music as a universal language. A poetic experience in the dark!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert is part of the festive #Enschede700 project: \"The carillons of Enschede in 150 Colours of Sound,\" a musical ode in which each song represents an Enschede resident and their background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, Enschede celebrates its 700th anniversary. The Enschede Carillon Society is marking this milestone with special international concerts throughout the year. Songs from all corners of the globe \u2013 contributed by Enschede residents \u2013 will be brought to life on the StadsCarillon and the CampusBeiaard. This creates a vibrant program that showcases the cultural richness of our city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you live, work, or study in Enschede and want to contribute to this musical project? Submit a song from your native country. If no song has been submitted for your country yet, your entry will be performed at one of the upcoming concerts on the StadsCarillon or the CampusBeiaard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
